Outside the Kenosha County Courthouse Friday, Tanya McLean, Founder of Leaders of Kenosha, said: “What happened with Clyde is just another example of the injustices black men are facing. faced in this country. We had a 17 year old (Kyle Rittenhouse) who came to our town and murdered two people with guns and injured another.
“The worst possible thing happened in our city, it turned our city upside down. One thing he did was discover all the ugliness and injustices that continue to occur in this city which has been, for many years, covered and protected by everyday life.
“Clyde came immediately to show solidarity with the people of Kenosha. We appreciate Clyde’s actions and what he has done here to try to bring all injustices to the fore. What is happening to Clyde is simply not true, and the charges should be dropped, ”McLean said.
McLean and Justin Blake, Jacob Blake’s uncle, claim McLemore was trying to close the door, not to hurt any officer with it.
“Since Clyde couldn’t be here today,” said Justin Blake, “we stand in his place to say: No more abuse of African Americans at the hands of an unfair system, no more beatings. fire in the back of 30-year-old men who haven’t committed a crime, plus bogus door-closing charges (which are) filed (as) assault charges.
