State and North Shore chapters of the climate action advocacy organization 350 Mass Action and the National Association of Social Workers of Massachusetts Chapter-PACE have endorsed Doug Thompson in the race for the open seat of State Representative from Essex’s 8th District.

350 Mass Action is an organization whose primary mission is to address the climate crisis. In the organization’s endorsement of Thompson, spokeswoman Judith Black said, “We deeply appreciate Doug’s thoughtful and progressive platform on this critical issue. From pushing back decarbonization timelines for transportation, construction, and power generation, to making massive retrofits a reality, and tying them to the need for job development, Doug understands intersectionality. issues that deeply affect our Commonwealth.

Alison Freeman, President of NASW-MA-PACE, said, “PACE believes Doug Thompson will be an effective leader in the State House in bringing creative solutions to the issues we face. With 25 years of driving complex change, particularly in healthcare programs, Doug has the political expertise to bring about lasting and equitable change in the Commonwealth. PACE is delighted to support his campaign for Essex’s 8th House of Representatives.
