Hyperoptic offers three broadband-only offerings to choose from: Fast, Superfast, and Hyperfast, which give you average speeds of 50 Mbps, 150 Mbps, and 900 Mbps respectively.
Like Virgin Media, Hyperoptic is offered on a one month rolling contract basis, but at the time of writing, its service is only available in London and certain surrounding areas.

Virgin Media, Gigaclear and Hyperoptic all offer unlimited fiber offers. They are therefore suitable for occupied households with several occupants.
Three also offers its 5G and 4G broadband service only on unlimited use plans.

Can I get BT or Sky broadband without a landline?
To get standard broadband or Sky or BT fiber broadband, you will also need to get a landline. Neither provider offers broadband-only offers.
The same goes for TalkTalk, Vodafone, Plusnet, EE, SSE, Now Broadband, Post Office, John Lewis and OneStream.
The reason is that all of these providers use a landline to provide broadband to your home.
What can you save by prepaying the rental of the line?
If you prepay the entire 12-month landline rental at the start of your contract, you can save between 10% and 30% on the total price.
Paying up front also means you’ll be safe if your provider decides to increase landline prices halfway through your contract.
However, not all providers offer the option of prepaying. Those that include TalkTalk, BT, and Plusnet.
Of course, in order to be able to pay up front, you will need a lump sum in cash.
And it should be noted that the money is not refundable. Even if you decide to leave the ship for another supplier.

Is mobile broadband a good alternative to domestic broadband?
4G and 5G home broadband can be a decent substitute for traditional fixed broadband.
Allowances are not as restrictive as they used to be. And depending on where you live, you can now access mobile internet at speeds that match landline services.

But the fact remains that home 4G and 5G broadband is often quite expensive compared to fixed broadband.

A close look at the price of Virgin Media and Hyperoptic’s broadband-only offerings and its competitors’ broadband and home phone plans reveals that the latter can be cheaper, even if you are ostensibly paying for an additional service.
So, before you make the decision to sign up for broadband-only service, it’s worth checking the price of the broadband and home phone deals available in your area.
