Amazon orders new Jack Ryan series

Jack Ryan’s screen story is mostly in film, with the government analyst being played by who’s who of Hollywood talent, including Alec Baldwin, Ben Affleck, Harrison Ford, and most recently Chris Pine.
For our money, Harrison Ford was the best, but he could theoretically be usurped by the last actor to take on the role: John Krasinski. You might remember him as Jim Halpert from the American version of the office, but he’s been groomed for action roles ever since, most recently appearing in the movie 1pm: Benghazi’s Secret Soldiers.
The new show is produced by Paramount and Skydance Television, and will be produced by Lost’s Carton Cuse and Almost Human’s Graham Roland. And in news that will excite some and alarm others, director Michael Bay is also named executive producer.
It’s not yet clear when it’ll be available for streaming, but you’ll need to sign up for Amazon Prime Instant to watch it.
Amazon Studios boss Roy Price said, “We are excited to add the global Jack Ryan franchise to our strong pipeline of originals.
“Our customers will enjoy a compelling adaptation of the action-packed spy thriller series, further raising the bar for the level of storytelling quality that has made Prime Video a premier destination for content.”
